Matthew Ryals is a musician, sound designer, and educator based in New York, NY. Primarily working with a modular synthesizer, his music explores cybernetics, and unfixed forms.

For his third album, ‘impromptus in isolation’, I designed the cassette tape release. An album where all tracks were recorded live with no overdubs using a eurorack modular synthesizer, I took inspiration from Matthew’s improvisational style with his synth, creating a procedural graphic element that was able to flex and change, just like his music.
